Yesterday the Governor put us on a mandatory Stay At Home order effective from 11:59 tonight until April 6. However in that order, you are allowed to exercise: walk, jog, run, "bike" or walk your dog. I figure riding my bike is certainly within the context of those rules as it is my only form of exercise.

You are also allowed to go to the grocery. Wife and I did that this morning. Our local Kroger's grocery started a "senior hour" from 7am-8am on Monday's, so that seniors might be able to get supplies they need. Today was the first day. We figured not too many would know about it yet and we'd share the store with a few other couples. HA! My wife and I got there at 7 and seniors, many wearing masks, were lined up out front standing in the rain, waiting to go in. We almost turned around and went back home, but the line was beginning to move so we got in line. The Governor's order must have put every senior in the county in a panic. Inside was a mad house. TP was gone by 7:15, eggs by 7:20, bread by 7:25. You couldn't get near the meat counters. People rushing to get stuff, going every direction. Cart jams at the end of every isle. There were 13 check out lines with at least 10 carts in every one of them trying to check out. What a fun time. NOT.

ROFL

Ferret, I tried to help my 80 year old mother by putting a list together of all of the stores she frequents that are offering senior hours. Of course, all of these stores' senior hours are right when they open, early in the morning.

She thanked me for my effort, but said that it was much too inconvenient for her to get up that early, and that the stores should be ashamed to make old people drive when it was still dark outside.

She said she'd shop whenever she bloody well pleased. She had just purchased a Costco-sized package of toilet paper before all of this began, and told me she'd be fine.

from french friend i dont know how good was the onlinetranslater

Before I have to shop, I have to fill out a form. Police controls on the way. Orbiting helicopters. Hasty shopping and to go to the mother-in-law to bring the food quickly there is another form woe if not If you get caught, it costs between € 135 and € 375.
Since then, leaving the house is only allowed in the neighborhood, so jogging around the block and the dog owners are not allowed to continue. Exception if you have a job at all, you can go. Of course again with other permits and forms.

Yea it was kind of crazy, but they do that supposedly because they stock the shelves over night and the shelves should be full when they let the seniors in in the morning, so they can get what they need. As it was this morning, the shoppers all the rest of the day are going to be coming in to empty shelves. Not sure what the answer is.

If they had those rules here, I certainly would not pleasure ride, but it makes no sense to let a bicyclist use the public road and not a motorcyclist since they are both doing essentially the same thing, only one isn't peddling. I would say it's probably safer for the motorcyclist on the road, than the bicyclist, since we can keep up with traffic, have lights and turn signals etc.

and continue

One of a French motorcycle group went to work on the motorcycle and unfortunately had an accident. He was just patched up with the most necessary and then home. Then he only warned, let it go, because nobody wants to experience what he went through.

Here in St. Louis and Mulhouse, doctors and nurses have to decide which patients are worth treating and where not. They already have enough work to do and have to make such decisions on top of that
So everyone thinks - everyone for himself - does he want a curfew?
the curfew came bcos peoples made no 2m distance to the next and so on

what if he had been in a car accident? would he have been warned? I hate rules or ideas that just don't make any sense. A motorcycle is a viable means of transportation and subject to all laws and rights that a 4 wheeled vehicle has.

Geez so it's alright to ride a bicycle, and it's alright to drive a car, but it's not alright to ride a motorcycle? That makes sense?
