Cherokee, NC to Clingmans Dome
#1

Last Thursday The A-man and I left the motel in Cherokee and drove 20 miles to Clingmans Dome Rd. It was 55 degrees at an elevation of 1991 feet in Cherokee.
We arrived at the park entrance and rode 7 miles up to the Dome at an elevation of 6644 ft, where it 40 degrees and we were in a cloud and couldn't see 10 ft in front of us.
Notice the cloud in the background of photo number 2
An hour later we were back down to the valley riding by the Oconee and we had to remove jackets due to it being in the high 70's.

A-man looks like he's got the DLX all set to cover some miles! What are you riding these days Mscb?

I took my 2017 Kawasaki Versys LT to Cherokee.
The CB will out accelerate the LT but the LT will outbrake and out handle the CB, plus it has a really good fully adjustable suspension at both ends. It has the best ergo’s of any bike I’ve ever owned. The CB is a great bike and every time/place we stopped people gravitated to the A-mans bike and mine never got a second look or question about what it was.

My other errand bike is a KYMCO 400
This is my short trip around town bike.

I've never ridden a scooter of any kind. Must do someday.

This one is made for long distance and higher speeds actually.
Top speed is 105 and it easily cruises at 80 mph.
Entire area under the seat is storage and is has linked braking.
I especially like the turn signals mounted on the front of the mirrors.

I loved our Yamaha Majesty 400's except for the air cleaners (2) that sat right beside the drive belt and collected enough belt dust to need replacement in 5000 miles.

Two weeks ago I stayed in this Airbnb for 3 days, located about 10 miles from Franklin. This was my second stay there. The riding on 28 was as usual excellent.

Cute. A CB1100 may have looked fantastic in front of this (great contrast).

Anything in those wine (??) bottles by the window, or just decoration?
