A few mods on a 2013

Some pictures of the small mods on my 13 CB1100.

*Corbin Seat.
The first Corbin I had was on a 2009 Triumph Bonnie. Corbin tells you that the seat may seem rather hard until you put about 2k miles on it, and they are right. After it breaks in it is very comfortable. This time I went for the leather, not vinyl, and it is proving well worth the cost.

The original seat was just too soft and my butt would sink down into the foam comfortably, but that same foam would then push up on 'the boys' and after awhile became very uncomfortable. OUCH!

*Forward Footrests.
These are passenger foot pegs from a 83 CB450A mounted to some good steel brackets purchased at the local hardware store drilled and bent to fit. The foam covering, same stuff used to cover hot water pipes, keeps them from getting pitted and rusting.

They do the job, and I only ever use them one at a time on longer rides.

*Handlebar Risers.
From a 96 Honda Magna. They raised the bar up about 2 inches and back about 1 inch. I had to reroute the front brake line behind the triple tree, but the wires and clutch line worked out just fine.

I would like to bring them up another inch or so but that will require at least extending the upper brake line or replacing the original with two separate lines or a custom line. I think I'll wait on that for awhile.

*Rear Shocks.
I guess I just don't weigh enough (150 lbs) because the only way I could get the rear shocks to work was to lift up and plop down real hard. They are just too stiff for a good safe ride. I'm just not into hard tails and skiddering around corners.

These are from a Harley XL1200. They are softer and as a bonus they dropped the rear about 1 inch. I had to replace the Harley bushings with Honda CB1100 parts and use small washers to space the lower bolts out about 1/8 inch so the larger stock washers would not push directly on the chrome of the shock when tightened down.

*Slipstreamer S-02 Spirit Windscreen.
This is a nice windshield. If you want something more than a small screen you might want to consider one of these.

At first I had it mounted higher up and back further but it created to much turbulence on me. Where it is now is just about perfect, no turbulence, good airflow, and it even keeps the wind of my hands. I've had the bike up over 95 mph with no ill effects due to this shield. Perfect for cruising or commuting. It does not feel like I'm plowing air either.

My next mod will be changing the front sprocket to 19 teeth.
