VLJ, For all of us that ride, we are always aware of the risks of our sport. Thanks for keeping us informed of your life event. Day by day, things will get better. Prayers for you and your family during this time of healing.

VLJ, this is ugly, especially at the end of the motorcycle season and you did not need it to happen to you..
Now you need to concentrate on yourself, your health and recovery. Get good, solid and long term support from your family members and friends = very important!! Had double femur fracture++ after ugly bike accident half a century ago... Femur is a big bone and takes time to grow back together, and your case is complex with some surgeries coming... Follow doctors orders. Stay strong with positive thinking. Believing in full recovery is your main goal, be determined to succeed and never give up. When you get home, start exercising as soon as you get OK. "Failure will never overtake you if your determination to succeed is strong enough”, and I believe it is! Good luck my friend

Heal quickly and well. Broken bones hurt, but do heal. The shattered confidence is harder to recover.

Well that sucks about the bike. No sponge baths for her.
![]() You're living my biggest fear; don't bounce like I used to, bones don't heal up like they used to. I hope you heal up with no lingering issues. And I hope you get cute and smart nurses.

So, they had to do an emergency surgery to avoid having to amputate my right foot, and the following morning I managed to freak out my nurse when I bled out, soaking the entire bed. That was...different. She was not amused.

VLJ: Even just trying to imagine what happened to you hurts... Get well soon!

Thanks to a blind 88-year-old geezer who inexplicably tried to drive straight across a two-lane road, my perfect new Kawasaki is now a decidedly secondhand Kawasaki. Terrible news! Hoping you make a full and swift recovery. It seems to be the type of accident that happens most often and irrespective of how well or defensively you ride some things you just cannot escape from. Wishing you well and back on a bike when you’re ready. |
