I want to fit a gear position indicator to my 2013 uk abs model, and have searched for the diagnostics port to no avail. It's by the ecu apparently Can someone point me in the right direction please. A photo would be ideal. Thanks in anticipation. Gaz.

Cormanus shows it good. Its behind the left side cover. Its red and has a protective cap. Remove cap and plug in GiPro. I love mine.

The red one. You have to remove the cap to use it.

In the US, on non ABS bikes, the red diagnostic connector is mounted where that big white connector is on your bike. ABS bikes might be different, I'd have to do some research. But, just remove the black cap so you can use the connector.

The pics of Cormanus' bike is how the US bikes are even though his is Austrailian.

The red connector is all taped up for some reason.

Well, you might have to un-tape it to get to it. You should have seen how they COMPLETELY tape it up on my ST 1300. Totally hid.

Loose: It might be on your bike. There are more unused or accessory connectors tha are also red and capped and they are 'loose'.

Is your bike ABS?

I looked in the service manual, and that big white connector is the ABS subharness connector. The ABS Service Check Connector is taped to the wire bundle from the front. That gray looking connector tucked up under it is most likely it. It has 3 wires.

The DLC is shown right where yours is. You have a arrow pointing at it. Its Red, with a black cap and 4 wires and taped to the Main Harness. You have to untape it.

Non ABS like mine are different slightly as we don't have any ABS stuff.

Yep. That red one. get the black cap of the end and it should just plug into the gear position indicator. Mine looks different because they hadn't invented ABS in Australia when I bought it.
