I'm getting used to the new handling of the PR3's now and they are not as alarming as the first ride. I do have to be careful to not drop into a corner too aggressively as the bike is too willing to go for it.

I think I may have to try them on the Griso next.

Haven't checked in on this thread in a while - this is quite the opposite experience from mine. The stock Bridgies would tip in very easily because of the thinner width and taller aspect. The Michies make the handling a tic heavier, IMHO. Rider height, weight and underwear all may be contributing factors though.

If they say they can't tell the difference between a 160 and a 140, they probably can't.

As we have seen from some of the images, some riders take their tires right to the threads before replacing them.

Some replace them when the handling begins to fall of noticeably. That usually happens when the tread depth gets to over halfway to the wear bars.

If someone is just concerned about squeezing the last mile out of a tire his or her priorities are just different.

I certainly don't recommend running a tire right to the wear bars, let alone the threads, but it is sort of an emblem of the risk-taker.

I can hardly complain about that since I caught some flak posting an image of the shredded sides of my tires from the racetrack, something most riders seem to think is nuts.

This is such an interesting thread.. The Road Pilot 3's are the best tire I've ever had on any bike. When I discovered there was a set that fit the CB I was stoked..

I have read the entire thread and while I see, and understand, the voices that express concern over the "unstock" sizing, I still think I'll go RP3 when the time comes..

I ride in a pretty gentile fashion, a few cars in the wrong lane in blind corners experiences has slowed me down a lot, but the longevity and water handing abilities of the PR3's is such that I can't not put them on if possible.

I'm still a a long way from the need for new shoes, but I'll keep on checking in here for updates and info for when the time comes.

They are good. I was thinking I would try the Pirellis next. The Angel GT is highly recommended.

I just swapped out my front and back for a set of Road Pilot 3's, mostly because I make bad decisions all the time, and can't think for myself. So far I would describe them as noisier by a wide margin, but that will fade as they wear. Handling is very different at low speed in corners, not alarming, but its different enough that I got some parking lot time tooling around just to get used to it. At speed, they don't seem that different from the originals. Have to get some more riding time. Something I am getting back into after a couple months away.
Would like to know how much they affect the speedometer or mileage. But my bike needs some real gas to stop running like a vapor locked chihuahua. Back in the saddle indeed.

Stock sizes, I found them from two different places on eBay. Paid about $250 for both, delivered. $63 to have them mounted and balanced

Sent from me...... So far I've only managed to do about 100 highway miles with new Avon Road Riders so I can't tell you how they corner quite yet but so far they seem to be great tires. Smooth ride and of course are much better than what I had! At least the bike doesn't feel like a rock dropping into turns! (I mean slow city turns)
