As to your front suspension, wouldn't be less complicated if you went for a completely new set of '17 forks ???

Thanks. You really like white, don't you? Big Grin

My thoughts exactly, the only thing that puts me off is cost. The SDBV forks are £1220 a pair in the UK (with VAT) whereas the Andreani are less than £500. The old forks should sell for £300-400 so that also needs to be considered.
I'm not afraid of complicated so have even priced up the internal parts to convert my 2014 shocks to the DBV system, but I stopped my mental addition when I got to £350 a side.

I hope everyone is enjoying the progress as much as I am?

It's a bit tricky to post everything in a logical order as the forum software throws a bit of a funny and merges posts when you send in consecutive posts. Did this last night with the paint so I will now wait for a response before uploading the next installment.

The Forum site resources are older generation, but still quite functional.

Another way to extend your review is to wait after the previous post if nobody else responds. I forget the timeout period, but it might be one or two hours. After that, you can continue your post by adding a new one.

Keep in mind that after a similar amount of time I think you will be unable to edit your previous [older] post.

I like my white CB but not necessary my ultimate. It depends on application, where some colours fit great some less, you know....
Choose the one you love and desire.
Good luck...and pics when done.

Thanks for the info GoldOxide, I figured as much regarding the site so will do my best to work around it. Of course, an easy way is a quick thumbs up from other members after each post.

As well as the headlight ears, one of the other sent by Takashi was a new K10 rear light unit, with which I lost no time getting it to fit.

The original light was easy enough to remove, the wiring a little less so as it was well and truly stuck inside the wiring sleeve on the underside of the mudguard.

(Whilst mentioning the mudguard, I was also shocked at how poorly protected it was underneath, the chrome was wafer thin and of course corrosion had a free ride to take hold. Seems to be a common problem, so will give it a coat of paint on final fit.)

Fitting the new light involved marking out then drilling the mudguard, fitting a grommet for the wire and transferring the mounts from the original light. All easy enough I guess.

After fitting I was slightly surprised that the original mounting holes are exposed between the light and the seat, so as a temporary measure I've taped up the holes with aluminium tape until such time that I can have a new pair of mudguards made in stainless steel.

Yes, bought and paid for and requested express delivery. You have definitely been more than helpful franov, I really wanted the SDBV set up but could not justify spending that much for new.

Gold content, you say?

We're on the same wavelength: new gold side panel badges arrived on Friday.

Now I'm just have to decide between the "1100 four" or "1150 four" badges. On first glance the 1100 seem to be more authentic, however at 1140cc the 1150 are technically more accurate.

Thoughts everyone?

in my opinion, the 1100 badge is better! the cb750 four had a 736cm3 engine, but still they named it 750 and thus the emblems said so, therefore why bother to be precise? Smile commercial names are rarely matched by the exact engine specifications..
