Shoei RF-1400 helmet anti-fog insert?

I just bought a Shoei helmet. Do any of you Shoei helmet owners use the "Anti-fog Insert" that attaches to the inside of the the face shield? I am a bit leary of this double shield idea because of possible image distortion,etc since I also where sunglasses (non-polaroid). Thanks in advance for your experiences/thoughts.

Three years ago I put a Pinlock shield in my Arai helmet , BEST thing ever No fogging up and No distortion of sight , Just Do It !

All my anti-fog inserts and pinlocks are lost somewhere in the basement still in their original wrap. I think I accidentally threw out a few too. Ah well.

I put the insert in my new helmet (Shoei Neotec 2) and rode with it last night. No fogging compared to when it ALWAYS used to at stop lights. And, it doesn't bother me while at cruising speed in the daylight. You can always take it off if you don't like it.

Don't hesitate, they are the best thing to of happened to helmets in a long time. I wear glasses 100% of the time and have no problems. I am experimenting with varifocals on my bike as I struggle to focus on the clocks or Sat Nav while wearing regular glasses. Time catches up with all of us

I have one for my rf-1100, but I usually just deal with it with thr regular visor ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I recently bought a Shoei RF-1400 helmet and an HJC RPHA 11 Pro Bine helmet, and both are Pinlock ready with shields. I plan on using them as soon as it gets cool. Had to stop laughing on that one, I guess maybe this coming November or December it might get cool enough to fog a helmet. Everyone swears by them, but I have never used one because my AGV did not fog up on me this last couple Winters, whatever that is.

Yes, I use the pinlock and visor insert on my RF-1200, it works well. Keep everything clean and you will be happy with the results.

Seconded. Just make sure you do it carefully with hands cleaner than the Virgin Mary. Once you get a smudge on the inside of the pinlock, it is forever doomed to remain. Attempting to clean it off will just add more smudges. Ideally you need a class A clean room (surgical operating theater will do in a pinch) along with particle and static free bunny suits.
