I saw on an ST board that our own Ferret got tagged at a stop light the other day on his ST.
I hope you are OK Mickey!
And sorry if this is a dupe, I don't remember seeing it.

Lol man can't hide anything from you guys. I'm fine popgun. Didn't say anything here because it was on the ST, and it wasn't a big deal. Pulled up to a light the other day, and everybody stopped. One of those long lights with lots of turn lanes that have to go, so I slipped it into neutral and just sat there. The light changed and when I snicked it into gear the bike jumped like I jammed it in gear without using the clutch (not related to the clutchless shift thread lol). Anyhow, I thought that weird, so I put it back in neutral and then back in first ... perfectly normal this time. So I looked in my rearview and saw the SUV behind me was up against my saddlebags. The guy behind me in had rolled into me. Don't think he was paying attention. At any rate we pulled over, noted no visible damage on either vehicle, I wasn't hurt, and we split ways.
Funny thing is when he got out of the car, he asked me if I rolled back into him lol. The law says you need to give the vehicle in front of you 3 feet clearance at a stop. That would have been a long backwards roll lol. We were on flat ground and he knew full well I didn't, so it was evident he wasn't paying attention.

Glad it was just a light tap ferret, could've been much worse. This same thing happened to me two weeks ago except I was in my Nissan truck. Lady behind me was so busy texting that she rolled into me. No damage to my truck but my trailer hitch destroyed the grill of her compact.

I figured you were OK since you've been out riding in what I call freezing cold weather! Glad all is well.

the funny thing was the timing of it all. The EXACT moment I put it into gear is when he hit me, making it seem like it was something related to the transmission or clutch. Had it been before the shift into 1st it would have been evident what had happened.

Glad it wasn't anything serious Ferret, it stinks that some people out there just don't respect MC riders. If I remember (key word "remember") I try to stop 3 or 4 feet short of the line and watch what the car behind me is doing if they come too close this gives me a little buffer to move forward. I think the MC schools say to always have the bike in second when you come to a stop and immediately drop into first just in case you have to get out of the way quickly, anyways, enough preaching to the choir. What was getting hard for me on my Harley holding in my clutch at long lights, so I would put it into neutral (if I could find it) and I now do the same on the CB, which I think is a bad habit.
