Sym Wolf Classic 150 on the way.

Cool little bike. They carry them at my local Honda dealer.
How's the riding position with the clip-ons, and (what appears to be) standard-position mounted footpegs???
Do they offer rearsets?

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous, they have two positions, they can be rotated forward about 5 degrees, I just notices. It just turns SO quickly but I'm getting used to it. Very fun around town but I'd not take it anywhere traffic is moving fast.

I think there are a lot of aftermarket parts from Taiwanese sources. It feels pretty good to me the way it is, the rubber on the pegs is quite solid, and the bars are high enough to be pretty comfortable. Long legs probably would be cramped but who rides a bike like this for more than 45 minutes at a time?
Apparently the kick starter interferes with higher pegs. It is really not the kind of bike I would want to lean much, with stock suspension anyhoo.

Gonna take it to the track just for fun?

Holes in the bottom of front fender make be believe you could bolt on a hunk of rubber as a true mud flap. Big Grin
Take it to your local Bikes & Coffee, put playing cards in the spokes like the old bicycling days. That should really put a smile on folks faces. Smile

As a pit bike, yep. This thing is perfect for toting along with an RV. It don't like leaning over too far with that suspension. I wonder what could be done, though. Fork upgrades, Works shocks, vintage race rubber, probably do pretty good on a go-kart track or mini-bike race.

One thing that can be a real issue on these less expensive bikes is the voltage regulator/rectifier. I was just looking at these images and noted the regulator is huge, with giant fins, and located right up front in the wind to keep it cool.

Now, I have to say that several Yamaha motorcycles I owned from the late eighties and early nineties had horrible voltage regulators which would fail often. It was a small, potted aluminum thing bolted to the subframe, got very hot, and ultimately melted and failed when you were far from home. I got to keeping a spare regulator with me, it was so bad.

So this thing seems to have far better electrics than the Japanese motorcycles of the 80's and even later, at least in design. I'll have to check the alternator output, I want to replace the lead/acid battery with a Shorai but it needs to have a minimum of 13.1 V. The current battery is serious old-school, with the vent tube hanging under the bike. It gurgles and hisses when on the charger. Makes me nervous.
