Capo, congrats. Great write-up. Your Thrux R has the same engine and state of tune as the standard Thrux, so redline should be the same.

Wow, excellent report, Capo! Way more and way better info than I would have expected anyone to take the time to do. Just A-1 - thanks!

And the Lord sayeth, "Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's Thruxton R."
Dang!

I would be very keen on your observations after taking a Moto Guzzi Griso for a ride, then back on the R. I think the Griso would be a better bike to compare with than the CB.

I think the Griso would be a better bike to compare with than the CB. I owned a Griso. A Tenni Green. When it wasn't shorting out, filling my garage with acrid smoke, or sidelined waiting for three months for a new harness, it was a sweet bike. But the Thruxton R is infinitely more modern, better handling, lighter and smoother. Just as much 'character,' whatever that means, but likely less of a heart breaker. That being said, I dug the Italian beauty, and I'd have another Griso, but only if my wife's family owned a Guzzi dealership. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
