alprider: Many may be anticipating a written report on the CB1000R, and how it compares to our beloved CB1100s.

Good move AR, they had a couple in our Honda dealership, they are sold now but i had a close look at them and liked the look and quality of the finish.
Probably a better choice than the kawi900, nice color balance and i like what they did with the looks of the engine to conceal the not so shapely cylinder head.
The exhaust has not grown on me but that goes for a multitude of models nowadays, they are just going through a phase i think.

After looking at the "sold" sign a few times i spotted the joke; verCHauft instead of verkauft, must be a swiss thing, i like it.

I had to take a look at one of these, and stopped by the local Honda dealer yesterday. They had one in black. Not as striking as the red, but still very nice. Surprising that it has a cable clutch and not hydraulic, but I'd buy one in a heartbeat in red with that matching tail cowl if money were no object.

But, money is an object... looking at the price tag, after their shipping and assembly charges, the asking price was the same as what I paid for my used CB, if you were to put a "1" in front of the number.

It was interesting that I rode up on a nice looking Honda, walked into the showroom, wearing riding gear, and zeroed in on the second most expensive bike on the showroom floor (I assume a Goldwing was somewhere nearby), and the salesmen just stood off to the sides, hands in their pockets, not even acknowledging my interest after I drooled on it for ten minutes. Clearly, I looked like someone who couldn't afford it.

I actually prefer to be left alone on the sales floor until I’m ready to ask a few questions. Conversely, when I walk up to a customer service counter or receptionist I expect to be acknowledged almost immediately. I also like it if the salesperson sees you and says if you need any help just let them know. That gives me my space to browse.

yes..you can say : verCHauft is swiss-german....

until now:
the boy is very dursty in my eyes....very short gear ratio, until now says the bordcomputer : 5.3l/100km and this most only in 6th gear and by max 80km/h..........and it has only 16.2 tank.....and of the other side : from nothing comes nothing...smile.

as of 6-7000rpm your arms becomes suddenly looong...ooops.....below just fine normally powerful

the stock suspension setting is very sporty / hard....there i must looking for a better setting...

the saddle ist nothing for long distance rides...or yes i have not enough meat/ upholstery at the bottom...smile....and yes the seatposition is some leaning forward but not uncomfortable like by a real supersport bike......

with the relatively wide handlebar you can too crusing if you want.....its no only a real power- sport bike

maybe i order next year the quickshifter too....we will see....my test bike had one it function very well up and down...

"sporty", yes i can relate to that, when i first got my cb919f it was actually painful to ride until i found the suspension damping adjustment screws front and back.
Now it is even better and more comfortable than the cb1100, i adjusted the back to the point that it just stopped bouncing on the road.
After you have been riding 15000 km the engine should feel looser and develop more power you will appreciate the horsepower when overtaking, the cb919 is doing a better job than the cb1100 ( power/ weight ratio ) in that respect and your cb1000 does that even better.

Watched an older guy bunched up on a small sporty ducati, legs pulled in etc. it just did not look right, you need to be young and willing to forego comfort to fit on a sportbike, maybe the fuel dursty symptom gets better over time, thanks for all those details and congratulations again!

I walked in my shop today and spied a new Fury. Said to sales mgr, I cant believe you guys dont have a CBR 1000 but you have a new Fury. He said We've sold several Furys and I cant remember the last time someone expressed any interest in a CBR 1000.

Hard to believe.

Around here the CB1000R tends to linger around the showrooms for awhile, but not as long as the older CB1100s. I attribute the lingering of the CB1000R to the insurance premium.

Went to get brake parts for my dirt bike yesterday (multi brand dealer) and they had a new Fury in there. Can't be a big seller. It came out just as the "chopper" fad was over. No CB1000R. They did have a CB300R that was a looker. If it was just a "Super Four"...sigh.
