Late to the VFR1200X party, but I just saw this beautiful red 2017 at the dealer yesterday marked down to $8999. It fits me better that the Africa Twin, plus has shaft drive an is only $1899

Rode home and read all the old 2016 reviews on it. The pro reviewers were warm to it, while some of the "owner" stories really touted this bike. Seems like a similar story to our beloved CB1100. Really thinking about making this moto #2 in the garage

Saw one at the local Honda dealer about 4 years ago. The fellow was on a LONG ride, out of country plates and it looked like he was riding it like it was a KLR 650. It had been through the wringer and then some. It was in for some "minor" service.
I'm still tempted to get one.

They "plus fees" which could ruin the deal. Do you have any idea how much those "fees" are?

I wouldn't buy it just because of how much the owner likes to hold forth about his experience with motorcycles and condescending advice for potential buyers. If I'm paying cash, I want a 15 minute transaction at the very most, not a 90 minute diatribe. But, since he's in the DC area, he probably works in politics and that's just the way he talks.

Yeah, Roper, that kind of got me too. I like a comprehensive description, tells you the seller knows the bike. But that made it seem like the dude will be offended if you show up and don't think it's the most awesomest thing of ever.
