Hmm, if this guess proves to be correct, it would be a CB1100 in name only at best and it's not clear to me why Honda would want to do that. But I could see how it might be a decent selling machine for them just the same.

Thanks, for the photo Pekingduck. That means my right heel would be riding on the exhaust pipe. It also means a pretty tight knee bend. Now, if the footpeg was a couple of inches forward and down, in the rear brake position you indicated, that would be much more comfortable. I'm guessing I'm not the target market for this new model

Maybe the low, flat seats on CB1100 and Triumph Bonnevilles are part of their appeal. They certainly are welcome to me.

That's an easy 600+ pounds. I wouldn't look forward to valve adjustments either. Maybe that's why they're leftover 2016-2017 models discounted $6000-$7000.
I have a friend who loves his, and he loves it for the power. Very much agree with the high rear seat and tail on so many bikes, much harder for us older guys to swing a leg over, and for what? Give me a flat seat or rear section to bungy stuff on. Can't remember the last time I carried a passenger.

You'd probably have to mount it using the left riding peg, that is, step on, up and elegantly swing your log over. Easy peasy, ... Bob's yer uncle. Kinda like mounting an ADV bike.

CB4X was however an actual concept bike on EICMA 2019

As I look at it closer, I can see the fairing/seat/exhaust/bags are renderings, but the engine and wheel details are too detailed and defined, which makes me wonder if the wheels/front end were dropped in from another bike. Oddly, the CB4X looks more like a rendering to me.

I don't see another inline four coming soon from Honda in anything but Super Sport category. Power is just too peaky for most peoples everyday use, and definitely if passengers/luggage/touring is in the picture. The 270 degree counterbalanced twin will probably see a lot more applications, as it's far cheaper than a dohc 16 valve four. It clicks most all buttons, but boy, is it ugly.

It's not just older guys who don't like swinging their leg over a tall seat or tall tail section. Why should anyone have to do that just to appease designers?
Same with climbing on a footpeg to climb over.

It's funny because it's true, however it is just a game of lights.

That said, and more importantly: I wanna touch the ground with my feet.

Maybe coupled with the "Baby AT" rumor, the CB1100X won't be an 1100. It could use the fabled 850 cc version of the mill.

Could be, but this sport touring setup reminds me of the CB4X concept from some time ago. I reckon it's the same bike only more of a production model, and that indeed was a 650/4![[Image: cd7d5e8ce1b2a7fa28bd0a64cd60f394.jpg]](https://cb1100forum.net/forum/uploads/imp/202011/cd7d5e8ce1b2a7fa28bd0a64cd60f394.jpg)

I want to like it, I really do. It is just that I like my women and motorcycles with smooth beautiful rounded shapes and no angles.
This bike is ONLY angle, except for wheels and exhaust. Sorry, I pass.
