Fuses

My bike (2013) has six usable spots that each hold a 10amp fuse. The bike comes with 3 spares, a 30amp, 20amp, 10amp fuse. Now your never suppose to put a bigger fuse in a smaller fuse spot, cause you could burn up your electrical system. I replaced the 30 & 20amp spare fuses with each a 10amp fuse. So what the deal with Honda giving me a 30 & 20amp fuse as a spares?

Check your owners manual...I believe main and fuel injection fuses are bigger, also the ABS if yours is so equipped..lights, horn, turn signals, etc are the small ones.

I can't find a place where the 30 & 20amp fuse would go. Is there another spot on the bike for fuses to go? Thanks for the help.

The fuse box is under the seat and easy to get to.
The main fuses are in the starter relay which is forward and down a bit from the fuse box. Like the fuse box cover, you have to remove the relay cover to see them.
It's all shown in the owner's manual.

Going from memory here, but I believe you have to remove the left side cover and like Rocky said they are behind an electrical component there. Not sure where the ABS fuse is. Should know..my bike has ABS although I have hit the brakes pretty hard and never felt it kick in (maybe the fuse is blown).

Thanks much guys, I'll check it out. The manual does state that a 30amp fuse is used for the Main, but nothing about a 20amp fuse being used. I'll do more digging around that fuse area to find out. Looks like the 30amp needs to go back in the spare section.
