Paperwork compartment under Seat?
#1
On 2014 DLX's is there meant to be a documents compartment (with a door that closes) built into the bottom of the seat? Looks like there is a cut out area on my seat, but the "door" is missing. If it is supposed to be there, any suggestions on where to get a replacement?

To be clear, I'm not talking about the nice larger storage area underneath the seat that is between the side panels that fits the toolkit, manual, and perhaps a pair of gloves. What I'm talking about is much smaller, and perfect for registration, insurance card, and some emergency cash.

Thanks!

Actually, on my DLX the cut out area you speak of holds my manual very nicely, with four tabs that hold it in place. I've put the manual inside of a zip lock plastic bag to keep dust and moisture from damaging the booklet, and I also slipped my registration and insurance inside the bag. Using this cut out area in this manner leaves the other compartment by the battery with even more room for tools, etc.

Fritz, so those 4 tabs is all that holds the manual and other items in place? Thanks for you response.
PS Can you tell me more about your mirror extenders? Any photos? Thanks!

Those tabs are what you get Smile The document holder is just a sandwich type bag. You can order one from Honda for about $3. One member did and was pretty chagrined about it.

I trimmed a quart zip-lock bag to fit. Then sealed the bottom with my wife's food vacuum sealing thing. Works fine!
