I clean the bugs from my face shield every day. Yep the only way to avoid both wind and bugs is to look through the shield so it would have to be more than 22" tall. but then the shield would be covered in bugs and you'd have to clean that lol.

Looks like you did a great job BTW. I think about cutting another inch off mine occasionally then I straighten my spine and quit slouching and all is good again.

I then went bold and cut it down to 9" and 9.25 from the ignition. Wind is hitting the top of my shoulders and neck and the helmet still has wind noise, but no flag flapping. Chest is still air, except for what comes up hits around my waist area from below the shield.

However, I'm getting bugs on my helmet and shield again. Seems to be a trade off, bugs or flags flapping. I'm starting to think the EX isn't a great choice for the CB1100. Makes me question Rider Magazine's review.

Looks good, Ill take the comfort over the bugs. The lower you cut it the better the bike handles @ speed.

Being 6'1", is there much necessity in cutting down the Street Shield for getting the clean air (which means less wind noise/turbulence, right)? Going to be doing a lot of miles at high speeds so need the least fatiguing setup.

I ran a Plexistar 2 this past winter on my '14 and it knocked a vast amount of cold air off my body and my helmet. Of course, with the temp around 95° these days, one wants fresh air at all times. So, I mounted my Street Shield EX (stock size) for the summer. I briefly tried the Puig small shield but it is more for looks than wind protection.
