Maybe if we have another Cold War we can have a new Space Race to go with it. Pretty dumb to retire all your Shuttles when your next manned launch vehicle is still in committee. Especially with a trillion dollar space station up in orbit.

Just deorbit the ISS as it eats the budget and limits science space missions. The shuttle fleet was doing the same thing. Expensive old vehicles to keep flying. Even great old motorcycles no longer become practical daily commuters and must become museum displays. The sad thing is each president creates the next NASA future plan and it gets scrapped by the next president. We need what the Russians have, the Toyota Corolla of space launch vehicles, mass produced, reliable, and affordable. Those terms are relative to space launch vehicles!
