If I’m not mistaken they still make those bikes brand new open till just a year or two ago? You can probably find one as a leftover at a dealer with a warranty.

SR400 was indeed made until recently, 2021 models are available, they might still be in production, while the 500 stopped being produced some 20 years ago or so. We still get some SR400 and SR250 as grey imports, they are something of a favorite with the cafe/scrambler crowd. Being a Honda fan-boy I always preferred the CB400SS, but I can definitely see the appeal of the SR400 with it's decompression lever and kickstart, it's a real throwback.

We should start a pool and wager on what the final sell price will be on that. Big Grin

The '81 SR500 is gorgeous. However, the new owner will have to treat it extra well (e.g. rust protection, etc.) because regular use will rust that baby out in no time.

I love mine. I keep it at my daughter's in LA....not getting there as much as I used to though and thinking of shipping it back. It's really fun to ride. Did the same tank / side cover dealio that I did with the CB...though in this case it's a bunch cheaper... Bought it new (for a next to nothing) in 2017.
