I like bikes 'as is' with due respect to the designers and engineers who envisioned and built them. In due course if anything needs to be 'modified' it's because of an overwhelming need for function over fashion. At the end of the day one provides safety whereas the other possibly head turns..

We tried to attach photo,s to the tread but no luck, were on the tread reply do you find attach photos ???
Now I know why I love bikes so much: because I hate computers ! All women are cool, some are just hotter than others.

Designers are always constrained to laws, rules and regulations, manufacturing process, build guidelines, and I'm sure there are many other things I don't know about that dictate how and what can be designed. I'm pretty sure those mirrors were not designed and included because of their aesthetic influence.

It's hard to be creative within the boundaries and constraints of regulations meant to protect people. With the retro mirrors I'd like to believe that they stuck with the simple yet effective geometric shape that is least obtrusive to the front view, placed it within your front field of vision, well within the frame work of the bikes max width (handle bars) so that you can confidently squeeze through narrow openings without worrying about snagging other objects, 360 degree symmetry along it's plane.. |
