off topic I know but would love to hear a rider's review of that new 1200. My RF 1100 is the best venting full face I have ever owned but it is getting a little long in the tooth should replace it soon

The RF-1200 is lighter, smaller (outside dimensions), and has an even larger shield than the '1100. It is about the same regarding noise (which I found good). The venting should be better, since it has an additional center vent up top, and the others are the same as the '1100, but I can't say yet as I had them closed since it was a bit chilly the other day. The chin vent is a two-position vent now, and the half-closed position is really great at keeping the fog off the shield, but not blowing air up into your face. The vents are also easier to open and close than on the previous model (the rears use a switch that is cake to operate, compared to the four individual doors on the old one). It comes with a pinlock capable shield and the pinlock insert, which is great for those who ride in the cooler temps. Another nice thing is my glasses fit a lot better than on the '1100 (lower), so I'm not constantly re-adjusting them -- I may be able to forgo the contact lenses from now on. Also, the shield no longer has the lock on the left side, the shield simply lightly snaps over a bump on the helmet on the lower left.
Shoei is coming out with a photochromic pinlock shield next year for the RF-1200 (and possibly the '1100 as well, if I was reading correctly), which should be AWESOME. No more two shields or having to keep the shield up when it gets dark (I run a dark smoke shield on my '1100). It is expensive though (~$100), but I'm getting it anyway.
Overall I think the RF-1200 is a more refined version of the previous model. Lighter, smaller, with better peripheral vision (and I had no problems whatsoever with the '1100's), and some nice enhancements. Venting I'll have to wait to comment on until it gets warmer, but like I said, it has to be at least as good, if not better. The overall fit is exactly the same, so if your head fit an RF-1100, it will fit the '1200 the same.
