Getting back to the dealers being unhelpful. I think they were unhelpful because there were no DLX models and they have to push you toward what was available, the several STD models.
I also hope YOU decided you had to have the VFR and the dealer didn't nudge you toward it.
Good luck with the new ride and stay safe!

Well, there were two CB1100 DLX available in the area as far as I know, but definitely plenty more STD models, and few '13s with and without ABS. There are large incentives on all of the CB1100 models from Honda, so dealers have a lot of room to play with. One dealer let me walk out over a $200 difference, another claimed that they had a DLX for the price I wanted, then last minute said that they sold the one they had, but they "will have mine this afternoon if I put down a deposit", obviously meaning a trade with the dealer that wouldn't drop $200. It just got frustrating, and it didn't help when the sales guys kept saying stuff that meant they have never even read the brochure on the bikes...
My original plan was to buy a red VFR800. I didn't even know much about the CB1100 until I saw it at a dealership and was captivated by it. I would've been a happy owner if a CB1100 DLX if it wasn't for the mess above, instead I saw a white VFR while literally buying the '14 STD. This dealer was happy to negotiate on either bike, and the rest is history...
