I have good reasons though. A few days before Christmas our second daughter Emma was born Smile So I've been quite busy with that and just spending time at home with my family over the holidays. Then I started working this week, so I was hoping to ride in, but Monday started with -10C and 5cm of snow. It's still snowing...

My withdrawal symptom? I used the downtime to draw a picture of my bike on my ipad, should do nicely for an avatar picture:

Alphonsus, congratulations on the birth of your daughter. That's a pretty good reason to be off the bike.

alphonsus, I hope all is well with you!

I managed to get out this morning for a short, two hour ride, about 59 miles... So I had a little fix to my ride jitters.

I picked up my 2013 standard this August, new at a dealer not too far away. I only just passed the 600 mile mark Christmas weekend, which was really warm here in New York. I wish I had gotten more saddle time before the cold set in!

I've been pining over a pair of Dainese TRQ Tour boots, but was a little gun shy on the cost, even though they are worth the price. Last week I found a very lightly used pair, exactly my size, on eBay, less than half the price of new. They arrived last weekend and I took them out for a spin even though the temperature was lower than my prior threshold. My feet were toasty, even if most other parts were not!!!

Looks like this weekend will be unusually mild, but it's supposed to rain. Hard. Oh well.

This will give me a chance to perform my own 600 mile service this weekend, thanks to the helpful hints from y'all!

Congrats on the new boots, SailorRider! I just bought a new pair, from Leatherup. Very pleased with them. Now I can get my toe under the shift lever, hahaha.
