Are these CB/s sales ads fake ?
#1
Because of a recent post I looked into a few US websites for 2nd hand motorcycles. With cycletrader and a few others well known don't seem to offer any CB1100, the following site showed quite a few:

Some of the ads are clearly copies of copies of the same ad. Some show different locations and prices, but definitely the picture across 2 or 3 ads. Is this site serious or fake ?

Looks like a site that takes Craig’s List or OfferUp ads for a particular region and splits them out into multiple listings for the same bike, individually listed for each city that region includes. Probably not completely fake, but a way to incorporate advertising into what would otherwise be normal listings.

Looking at a few multiple ads for the same bikes, the cities they are shown in are grouped fairly close to each other regionally. A Craig’s ad for one of those bikes would be listed once, but shown in a geographic area that might include all of the nearby cities.

I’d stick with a more reputable site like cycletrader.com

The listings are likely "borrowed" or faked from other sites, or linked to sites like Offerup or Shoppok. Most listings are long expired. If you check again in 6 months, the same ads will likely be there.

As an example, there are 40 separate listings for "V65", but none for BMW motorcycles (but a lot of dealer car listings) All listings appear to be in the US, but It is based in Ontario, Canada. It is a scam, but it's their sponsors who have been scammed.
You might be better off on Craigslist, especially using this search engine that can search multiple Craigslist areas with a single click:

In my business, where I deal with online sales, the authenticity and uniqueness of ads are crucial.

There are certainly many ill-intentioned ploys in play these days that make it challenging for the honest private online sale to complete successfully for the owner.

Navigating the online second-hand market, especially for motorcycles, can take time and effort. I've encountered similar ad issues, where duplicates or slightly tweaked versions pop up across different sites. It's essential to approach these listings with caution. Ads with repetitive images or inconsistent information are red flags.

Luckily, most of the fraudsters do not care to take the time and make consistent ads. And when you send them an email from an disposable email address (one which doesn't look very disposable), their very first answer already reveals that either they have no clue, or the motorcycle does not exist. By then you have not even revealed your true identity, phone number or personal email address.
In other words it's relatively easy to tell the wheat from chaff. My 2 cts

In my own business, when it comes to creating ads, I emphasize transparency and accuracy. It's critical to building trust with potential buyers. Ensuring that each ad is clear and honest has helped attract the right audience.

Moreover, I've been using AdSpy from https://poweradspy.com/ for my advertising efforts. It's been instrumental in targeting the appropriate audience and doing deep dives into market research. Keepicompetitors' advertising strategies also provide invaluable insights. This tool has helped me refine and adapt my strategy, ensuring I stay ahead in my business."
