Merge user profiles

I was looking at the forum members list and it shows our old stats from the old forum under a "imp" user name. Is there a way to merge that information with our new accounts we created here?
Or am I just asking for a WAY too large of a headache?

if it helps, my understanding from rdprdp01 is that they will look at merging the identities after the migration exercise is complete.
