Great race. Marquez showed his growing maturity.

Marquez owned it didn't he? When he lost the front end and dropped to fifth, it didn't seem like he had a chance. Kids got skills.
Announcer says "Lorenzo is celebrating like he won it " lol.

Absolutely. His new self waits, paces himself and just picks 'em off.
I don't know whether or there's only one vision stream, but there was some slo mo I saw of Marquez coming into a corner from 185km to 85km with the back wheel bouncing off the ground. Interesting to think where his career will go.

Vinales was impressive as well on the Suzuki. THat first turn move was brilliant. Next year is sure going to be interesting with him moving to Yamaha and Lorenzo moving to Ducati.

Yep. Vinales rode a great race. It's a pity he didn't finish a bit better, but he'll continue to improve. Good that the Suzuki is going so well, too. In the end, though, I thought the race showed that Marquez, Rossi and Lorenzo really are the three current class acts in MotoGP.

He finished ahead of Rossi and that was victory enough in his mind. Marquez is a truly one of the best ever but with Rossi pushing 40 and still riding with such fire, Rossi is still the best in my book. Motogp will never be the same when he (Rossi) finally retires. The Suzuki team is enjoying much deserved success and Vinales is the main reason. His team mate, Espargaro rarely matches Vinales lap times and he is a fine rider in his own right. Rossi will have his hands full with a young team mate with such promise next year. |
