Smart phone with apps for rest areas, gas stations, hotels and weather. My wife has one and it is unbelievably handy for finding stuff on the road when you need it.

EmptySea, what's Honda Spray?

Honda Spray Clean and Shine. Been using it on all my bikes for years. Spray it on and wipe it off. Cleans away bugs, road grime and leaves a wax shine that looks great.
Pack as light as possible, especially be careful with your riding clothes selection. I use to camp on long trips but now I stay at hotels and always select those that have a laundry room. Having a chance to wash clothes every few days is nice.

Stay on the scenic back roads as much as possible. The slower pace will make the trip a treat.

+1 on chain lube and a good tubeless tire patch kit with CO2 cartridges as they pack easier than a pump and work great.

Don't cut corners on the rain gear. Get the best quality you can afford.

Hope you have a wonderful trip.

If you are going to be passing through very remote areas you might also consider a GPS locator beacon such as those offered by SPOT. I have one for those kinds of trips... nice to know that you can both check in and even get help if there is no cell signal.
