Time for a ride Friday afternoon left home at 1:30pm with a full tank of fuel. Arrived at Mirboo North just before 3PM a cuppa and a splash of fuel to top up the tank. ($10 @ $1.51 per L got me 6.58L ) Back on the road at 3:25 and it seemed like a good idea to take the indirect route via the Jeeralang it did not take long before the bitumen road was behind me.
Sections of the gravel / dirt road used by logging trucks had been turned to what could described as 3 to 4 inches deep mud slush this makes for an interesting ride and does wonders to the keep the bike clean program.
I did not take my camera sorry I should have. With the sun setting it was time to get out of the forest, it was now well past five and I had planned to be home by now. Another $10.30 worth of fuel in Traralgon ($1.48l 6.96L) Now a run down the highway to arrive home at 6:25.
Total distance 302.5km
Fuel used 17L (Topped up Saturday morning )
Seat time 4:25 hours
Home - Mirboo North 1:30
Mirboo North - Home 2:55
So on the bike after this trip mud and lots of it. I remove it with a garden hose spray nozzle duplicating a rain shower. Just 10 minutes later on the bike to get the paper, words of advice from my beloved "could you take the sort short way today".
Advice taken.
Regards
