Witnessing the process of ordering, eating, and paying is half the reason I went back the second time.
Where did you stay, Ferret, and were the accommodations decent?

I didn't know you were even there once. You went twice? During the MLR?

Accommodations were great but we were about 30 miles away in Marshal at the Lincoln Suites Inn at RT 70 and Rt 1

Actually, now that I think about it, I've been to MLR 3 times -- in 2014, 2015 (with Cheryl), and last year.

Maybe we should meet at Moonshine and stay over night. Let me think about that.

One of those things you have to do, Ferret. Glad you did. And glad you shared the story. That's an amazing number of people on motorcycles in one place for lunch.

Friday night at dinner I was sitting next to a gentleman ( stranger) and we were making small talk " where are you from?" I queried. " Phoenix, Arizona" was his answer? " How far was that? I asked. "1500 miles" he replied. He had ridden it in 2 days. Another rider there had gone thru a blizzard on his way down from North Dakota. I read on line he was second in line for a burger, at 6 a.m., behind a guy from Tennessee, then after eating it headed back home and got stuck in another blizzard, and that he was stuck in a hotel in Hamburg, Iowa hoping to get out today.

Crazy, I tell you.

Terry Hammond, the Casey, IL farmer who started the MLR, surely would be proud & pleased with all his like minded compatriots on this last "official" gathering!...Count yourself as one of those men & women devoted riders, Mr. Ferret!...
