Thought I would try to stop my donations to the NZ Police Christmas party fund as well as preserving my license so I bought an Adaptiv TPX 2.0. Is that some kind of radar detector? They have instant on laser here now. By the time a radar detector picks it up and warns you you are busted, and if you have a radar detector they will not forgive you.

Yes it is, TPX Radar and Laser Detection System 2.0, now with increased sensitivity and more mode functions! , the company http://www.adaptivtechnologies.com, makes or manufactures motorcycle accessories including a product called "Farkle Fingers" plus illuminated hi vis jackets and other kit.
Fortunately detectors are legal in NZ and my experience to date is that I have been warned many times of possible/actual speed detection units in my car by having a detector, so it makes sense to have one that is transferable to any of my vehicles that is weather resistant.
