It seems that there is a fair bit of amnesia in the U.S.A., for those of us over the age of 37. I think they might have tried this bike in the States before -

The 1994 "Big One" (CB1000) looks like a very early version of the CB1300, with the same bank of fuel injectors (or maybe larger throttle bodies) as we have on the CB1100. There may be a bit of interesting handiwork at a CAD workstation to update the valve train, passenger peg mounts and bikini fairing, but the cylinders and transmission appear to be pure CB1000 with updated styling queues.
The Big One put out approx. 90 Bhp at the rear wheel, and had no limiter, as they were carby bikes. They are still for sale in the dark recesses of Craigslist and CycleTrader for around $4000.
I too wanted one way back in the day, but I couldn't afford the CB1000 with my paycheck in '94, and had to settle for an year-end leftover Nighthawk 750. The nighthawk was a fun bike to be sure for a then-younger fellow like me, but I really pined for the liter-bike torque.
Anyone here still think the CB1300 is a complete re-design? I've been very wrong before, but I had a bit of deja vu when reading this thread. I still want the liquid-cooled liter Honda - old or new.
