What Redbirds said, a belt and gravel are a very bad combo, not a good idea for a true scrambler. So that tells me this is just a styling exersize. It kinda looks the part; but you could put racing stripes or checkers on the tank and call it a cafe' racer. Same thing.

Just caught it here!:

I would definitely have considered this bike last year when I settled on the CB. Glad some more naked motorcycles-that-look-like-motorcycles are coming out.

Somewhat off topic but still relevant....Interesting approaches to marketing. Yamaha puts in a 942cc motor and rounds UP and calls it a 950. The CB's plant is an 1140cc and Honda Rounds DOWN to 1100. Maybe Honda was worried about the heat they would take for the lack of HP their 1150 puts out? Either to me is an acceptable marketing approach. Contrast that with the Suzuki King Quad which has a 722cc motor but is sold as a 750. That's just false advertising all around. It's either a 700cc or a 725, but certainly not a 750.

That's reversed, the F650GS and F700GS are actually 800cc.
But does go to show how BMW undersells its product

yep right you are Ulve, it's so confusing lol the F650, F700 and F800 all use the same 798cc twin motor.
I really thought the CB1100 should have been named a CB1150 (which rhymed with 750 and would have made for some neat emblems) plus that would have distinguished it from the 1983 CB1100. We have had a few guys with the 83 1100 models joinn the forum looking for mechanical advice and parts for their 83's.

I agree. That's why my plate says CB1150

Some of the misrepresentation could be annoying. There are lots of insurance classes here that would get jumped up one tier by the difference between actual and advertised displacements (our insurance uses actual from the manufacturer).
