BMW's new R1300GS
#21
Pretty much spot on, Tev and you do have the current 1250GS, right?

I read someone's comment about the bike feeling more easily flippable, side to side, over the current one so maybe placing the (heavy) gearbox under the engine helped, or at least didn't hurt?

BMW have been sourcing their gearboxes for wethead R bikes from Japan so it will likely prove to be a good one. But there's a whole lot of all new stuff on this bike, would you be concerned buying a first year model?

I thought BMW had their adaptive suspension well sorted by now, do you feel it's just on the low versions? On the 2014 R1200GSA I had, the suspension worked wonderfully at high speed damping such as washboard, it was my favorite part of the bike. That is until it suddenly quit working right, it was as if someone replaced 10w oil in the rear shock with 40w making the ride very harsh. The dealer took it out and proclaimed it worked fine and when I checked no one on AdvRider posted of any problems with theirs. Finally one day riding on the same dirt road it was back to like new, I thought the fairy must have swapped back to 10w shock oil lol. Think it over I remembered that earlier I had taken the battery out for some reason. A couple weeks or so later when it became harsh again I disconnect the battery for a few minutes, reconnected it, and shock went back to nice again. It was kind a PIA having to do this whenever but that's what I did until trading it on a RS.
