I normally don't want any dealer, car or otherwise, to soak me on their 'normal maintenance routine', although I usually follow the 'book' when it comes to fluid changes and other important checks. While the guy was writing it up, he looked at the service manual to see what else was needed at 600 miles, and said the oil change was it. I don't know if they checked the chain or not. I lubed it almost immediately after buying it with BelRay (I also use this on my KLR, and have lubed it once at around 300 miles just to be sure. I'll lube it again after my ride today.
Check out the "How to Section" Ferret put a great list up there from the Service Manual on the complete 600 mile service.
I hate to get this going, but I used the Honda GN4 10w30 for the first change and on the next will switch to the Honda full syn 10w30. Want to give it a chance to brake in a little further before the switch. By the way some where I hear you could skip a filter change, don't do it, change the filter every time. That's like not wiping your butt every time.
