ABS
#21
I am interested in the new ABS that takes cornering (lean angle) into effect:

I have had ABS bikes in the past and I wish my CB had it, but it was not a deal-killer for me.

KTM has something similar already in some of their recent bikes so, it might be exactly what they're talking about. I think the Bosch stuff came about with the whole Can-Am Spyder stability system.

I tested a new F3-S Spyder earlier this year. I tried to get it to behave badly but it intervened in every case and protected me from myself. As intrusive as the system was, it still let me light up the rear tire. I had fun but I can't see buying one unless I was unable to ride a motorcycle. I guess it is nice knowing that option is there if I ever need it.

We traded in my wife's Spyder for her Harley Street 750. I feel she was better off on the Spyder but, I get why she wanted to be back on 2 wheels as that ride was awkward at best.

The ABS model was hard to find when they first came out here. That and they didn't sell well in my area. My dealer replaced the one I bought and it is still on the showroom floor. Disclaimer: I did not check the other dealers except one and they didn't move too many either.

I love my '13 ABS as well. Yes, they were hard to find. When I bought mine it was the last ABS model in a 5 state region. ABS was actually my #1 priority and I was willing to spend the extra $1K for it. Based on the upgrade prices being discussed here it seems like a bargain now.

This is the first ABS motorcycle I have ever owned in 40+ years of riding and now there is no way I would ever go back to doing without it. I absolutely love it.
