Has anyone been caught in a good down pour, if so how does it handle?

Yea I have, but I didn't book it in the rain. It handled ok keeping it straightup lol.

I hate rain, but not because of the way the CB handles it in which is fine. But rain means the bike has to get a top to bottom cleaning to remove all the road crude.

When I get caught in a downpour on any motorcycle, if I remain upright, I figure it handled great!

I ride in the rain all the time, commute. Got caught in end of the world rain on the way home from toledo the day I bought it. It rides very well in the rain. I have the abs version and love that extra bit of confidence it gives me. No worse feeling than when you lock up a front brake.

Always leave plenty of room between you and the car in front of you, ride so you can see around the car in front of you, you need to know what is happening far ahead of you if you're riding in commuter traffic and SLOW down.

Similar to what others have said, almost any motorcycle will do fine in the rain if you ride it correctly. My first unexpected downpour on the CB happened on my second ride. With the new tires still having the mold-release film on them, I was very, extra, ridiculously careful. Got home safe though, without a scratch

Two things in the rain that I noticed on the CB that I didn't notice on my previous bikes:
- The peg location seems to be in the direct line of where the front tire sprays away the water. My boots got soaked very quickly.
- Water seems to run down the tank and directly into your lap. I walked into my house looking like I pissed my pants!

I had am unplanned highway ride in a downpour last night (highway speeds) and the CB was fine, no problems with straight line tracking or lane changes. I'd rather ride in the dry given the choice, though!

I got caught in some very heavy rain for about 20 miles yesterday. CB handled it fine. Narrow tires are probably an asset in the wet stuff. I did notice, as Jim mentioned, that my feet got wet fast from the peg position and the plume off the front tire. This didn't seem to be an issue on the interstate, but was noticeable at lower speeds in town.
