To all the new 2014 DLX owners, We've seen all the pics, the buring question, so how does she ride? What RPM are we turning at 70 mph in 6th?

Someone posted 3400 on another thread, I think.

It is an overdrive, 1 thru 5 are slightly shorter than the 13.

It would be interesting to know, the 2013 at redline is:

1st 60
2nd 80
3rd 105
5th at 70MPH 4000rpm's

Wondering if they shortened the gear ratio.

There is another thread where someone posted the 14 ratios. The 6th gear on the 14 is about 600 rpm less than the 13 5th, so for Highway speeds it is undoubtedly much better in that sense.

Edit......Ok, I was going by memory, it was 65, not 70.

If the 2014 is running 3400 rpm at 65 mph in 5th gear, that means they did not shorten the ratio in 5th compared to the 2013.

The 2013 is running 3700 rpm at 65 mph.

The 6th gear is also taller than I thought, if running 3250 rpm at 70, that is 750 rpm less than the 13 at 70 in 5th.

Well I will never be able to tell you what mine is running at redline in ANY gear, but pretty sure I will be able to verify rpms at 70 in 5 th and 6 th someday.

Haven't redlined mine.
However, I really like the 6 speed gearbox.Thumbs Up

65mph/ 5th gear/ 3400RPM
65mph/ 6th gear/ 3000RPM
70mph/ 6th gear/ 3250RPM
75mph/ 6th gear/ 3500RPM

It pulls fine when accelerating from 3000 RPM in 6th gear.
