Literally at the opposite end of the riding spectrum and I appreciate each one for that. What they do both have in common is an exceedingly high level of finish in the components directly from the manufacturer and the fact that their detractors immediately default to the horse power output. I'm constantly telling folks that if your yardstick for a great bike is HP then walk away from the Guzzi. I have now purchased the Honda which (depending on whose numbers you believe) puts out another 36 additional HP at the crank above the Guzzi and I'm STILL hearing about power in the negative (in the press). 50 HP at the crank will kill as dead as 110 will. HP wasn't even a consideration for me. The Honda is a lot of bike for the money, it's unique, as reliable as an anvil, and it reminds me (like the Guzzi does) of some very good times in my youth.

I called a dealer in San Diego yesterday who had a ad on Cycletrader, but it is sold. He told me there are two in CA. but would not disclose the dealer, just kept trying to get me to buy the black one he had. They have the black one here in N. Cal.right down the street. Any information would be help. Thanks in advance. go google "honda cb1100 deluxe sale" or go to craigslist. There are some in Orange county |
