To start with I do know that this question should most likely be ask on a different forum but I have searched several Africa Twin forums and the more I search the less I have patience with those sites. So please bear with me.
I am looking to purchase the Honda version of the crash bars for a 2017 Africa Twin. I do know that there are other less expensive options, but I have an opportunity to get the Honda branded ones for a very good price. My issue is that Honda refers to them as a light bar, suitable for mounting fog lights. However they are made of steel and about the same thickness as those from other manufactures. Most people say to avoid them but they offer very little if any reasons as the why.
Does anyone in the forum know if these 'light bars' from Honda are reasonable protection for an Africa Twin?
