A tribute to Mary McGee, first US woman road racer, first person to race the Baja 500 solo. She passed last week at 87, (the same day as Malcolm Smith) days before this documentary was released:

Thank you pekingduck. Slightly to my shame, I’d not heard of MaryMcGee, but your post led me to look for the documentary. What a delightful woman. And a great story, except for the tragedy that befell her brother.

Mary McGee raced mostly club races on the West Coast (road racing was primarily East Coast or West Coast except AMA). She was pretty consistent, semi-sponsored by Honda and I think Steve McLaughlin, whose dad had a Honda dealership. Quite impressive.
