I've always come from the "better to beg for forgiveness than ask permission" camp! Not sure exactly where you live but assuming you live down near the river, im sure you've ventured across the river into Ky. There's some great riding if you cross the river in Augusta on the ferry. I grew up riding those roads. That's how motorcycling got in my blood!

Yep ride there several times a year. I took Empty Sea and his crew on some of those fine roads when they were down this way last year.

I do indeed recognize some of those roads. I grew up in Georgetown so that was sort of the heart of my riding country. In 1972 I bought a Honda 350 Four with my life savings (I was 16) and put about 15,000 miles on it during the next two years riding those roads with my best friend on his CB 450. I have some great memories from those days on the bike. Thanks for sending me that link. Those are some really nice pictures.
A couple of months ago I sold one of my bikes to a fellow who lives just south of Knoxville. We hit it off pretty well so he's invited me down to ride the Smoky Mountains for a few days. I'm planning a route through Paris then down through Eastern Ky into the Daniel Boone National Forest popping out into TN around the Cumberland Gap. There's some beautiful riding in Eastern KY. I haven't been that far south on a bike in decades.
Anyway, sorry to ramble on. I get started talking bikes and rides and can't stop! Thanks again for the pictures.

Thanks EmptySea. I'm looking forward to it. I see you live in Chicagoland. I started my career in Chicago. I was there a couple of years and enjoyed the city. Had a hard time finding good riding spots but I didn't know anyone there who rode to show me where the good sports were!
