What a difference a day makes!

So I spent a week out in LA on business, but snuck a few days riding in as well, on the Triumph Speed Triple I keep stashed out there. Two days of bombing around the Angeles Crest, over into the dusty desert town of Acton and back. The particularly wonderful Upper Big Tujunga Road (AKA 9 Mile) is a highlight. Hanging at Newcomb's Ranch, shooting the breeze with fellow motorcycle enthusiasts is always fun. Great riding.

One red eye flight and a day later, I'm back in NJ. 3000 miles East, 40 degrees F. cooler, 7000 feet lower elevation, and about 35 fewer BHP on the Tiger 800. But on the country back roads of Western Monmouth County, with Nomoco Road through Turkey Swamp Park and County RT 524 as the highlights, still quite enjoyable and remarkably empty this time of year.

We really do have an amazing array of landscapes, conditions, climate and riding opportunities in the US. And while I would have preferred to ride all the way across, jet travel makes it possible to see the Pacific and Atlantic, and ride motorbikes on two coasts, in one 24 hour period. Sorry, no CB1100 this thread!

That pic is the Tiger 800 with an arrow. I was out chasing color today as well. Just walked in so ride report in a bit. Nice here today, tomorrow and Thursday. I will be leading a couple guys on a crazy curve ride tomorrow.
