Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z
#1
I thought I recalled seeing someone on the forum who, like myself, also owns a Yamaha Super Tenere. I'm going to the National Super Tenere rally in Ouray, CO, from June 24th to 28th and was just curious if that person might be going to the rally also. I thought it would be fun to talk to someone who has both bikes, and it would also enable me to not annoy the other rally-goers with my slobbering love talk about the CB1100. Anyone here have a XT1200Z?

A few pics of mine in case anyone's interested:

The next two pics were taken on the Lolo Motorway, a 100 mile long off-road ride along the Montana/Idaho border. Was kind of sketchy in a few places for a novice like me. Let's just say the bike handled it better than I did.

At Lochsa Lodge near the trailhead of the Lolo Motorway:

Well, I hope to hear from the guy who also owns one.

Wow, tough crowd! Well I was gone for nearly two weeks; the rack bag had my mesh jacket and pants in it, the tank bag had tools, tire plug kit and electric air pump, water, snacks etc. Panniers had clothes etc. Okay, there was a small pillow and some books in there too. Plus it's always a good idea to pack in such a way that you have enough room to stock up on adult beverages for the evening...Tongue I only camp if forced to at gunpoint.

They really are a pretty unique ride, but yeah, she is a big girl, no doubt. At 5'10" I can manage it, but have to have the seat in the low position. Even then I'm looking down on you if your pickup is 2 wheel drive!

It's my travelling bike, which will mean the CB1100 is limited to local and in-state jaunts, which I'm okay with as I don't intend to rack up huge miles on the CB. I can't help it, but I'm already treating the CB somewhat like a collector bike. Would rather use up the Tenere for the big miles.
