New Bike
#1

AS some of you know I sold my 13 CB1100 last month because I just
could not handle it two up. I bought a brand new 2016 CTX700n dct
from Ken's Sports. I took the wife for a ride the other day and she liked it. I not no trouble in stop and go traffic. The low seat and the dct helps.
So for I added a Honda rack and put my old box back on. Also put a Madstad windshield on it. I took a ride to Spring Green the other day to get some sweet corn.

I would say this not is a good bike for a beginner the dct works well but the motor is a long stroked twin and comes off the bottom wit a lot of torque. In drive it shifts up fast and is in 5th by 35mph. In sport it shifts higher. You can manual shift it but found this only works well for passing of steep hills. It has a little buss above 60mph so I stop more often .

So far I like it, Honda say it should get 61mpg, first tank I got 74mpg
2nd 71mpg.
I really do like the way this bike looks. The ride is not as nice as the
CB but just about. The forks and shock have no adjustment .
Even though it has 17" wheels it does handle like a cruiser, very planted in the big sweepers but you really have to pay attention
in the tight stuff. I just leave it in sport mode then.

A funny thing happened at a red light when I first got it,
I had a habit of blipping the throttle at stop lights sometimes.
Of course I did it without thinking and the bike leapt ahead about2 feet.

That was my first bike. It handles really well for a cruiser, with a sportish rake, felt much more nimble than my dad's HD. I loved the big stock seat never felt the need to change it and I put some big days on it. Mine was the black one without the fairing or DCT, the CTX700N. The forum for CTX is great and I got a lot of great mod ideas from those guys. It was a great first bike for me, had a ton of fun, went everywhere on it, and got great money for it when I sold it.
