Gerbing HQ located near where I live. Paid a visit recently, mainly to look at the old flour mill thats been converted to offices, interesting place.

Much to my delight heated clothing being sold to general public at 60% off retail!

Holy cow what a deal. I have a heated jacket liner and glove liners. love em in the winter.

They used to be located in "my" neighborhood.

Be careful, though. Their website implies they are the original company, encouraging you to believe the jackets sold before their takeover still have a "lifetime" guarantee. Absolutely not true. A very long and boring story.

60% is a big discount, but my money now goes to Safe & Warm. Mike makes the best products, IMHO. And awesome customer service to boot.

And I do have a basis for comparison. My Gerbings pieces include jacket, gloves, vest and heated insoles. Used to have their socks, but they felt like three-day-old spaghetti noodles that had been left out to dry and then shoved into my socks.

Country View a decent little place, about 10 minutes from my cabin. Fine for a night.
Have some cottage suggestions if you'd rather stay in a cabin with a view. Creek Bottom Brews in "downtown" Galax has killer pizza and is a brewery.
If you want some local ride or restaurant suggestions let me know. My wife website - Moosepixs.com has a fair bit of photography from the BRP. Really like the area you're heading to, good riding and pleasant living. PM me if you want any local info about Fancy Gap region or places for cobbler (Hungry Farmer).

Gerbing US is changing their name, too many folks sending them stuff other Garbing made - UK? - messy. Not championing the company by any means, merely passing along info on a good deal.

We will only be there 1 night before heading south. I've heard its OK but a little freaky Friday with dolls and knick-knacks and stuff.
