Oh, man, what timing! I had this friend from back in the day, the 80's. He had a scorching fast Kawi Z-bike, and we used to go to Glamis, the sand-toy capital of SoCal. I had a 250 Honda Fourtrax that was a lot of fun. This guy was a fix-it wizard, and saved me a lot of money on car repairs when I had just bought a house. He was a great guy, always willing to help out. He had some woman problems and moved away in the early 90's and I didn't see him for a long time. Then I heard through the grapevine that he was living in Big Bear, a local mountain community. I sent a message thru the grapevine for him to call me, but he never did. He'd cut ties with a lot of people he knew, then just yesterday I heard that he had taken his own life. I had a couple of shots of Ancient Age in his honor.

my friend, Dave had some depression also.. nothing as bad as your old friend.. but he kept a diary that I read.. I found out how much he missed his first wife and his kids.. he left wis. to live closer to me so we could ride etc..
