K&H High Seat for 2017 EX

I ordered the flat seat from Samurider and requested it one inch taller than stock. It arrived yesterday and it feels great. I'll take it for a test ride this weekend but the added height is great for my 37' inseam. It wasn't cheap ($640) but a good investment in the long run.

I'm 6'2" and may take the plunge for one of the tall seats for my standard. I love the idea of having ribs to help hold me in place during passing pulls and hard braking, and being able to move forward/back as needed on a flat bench for comfort on long trips. Plus would appreciate firmer padding.

Big decision is which ribbed style to get ... three different choices! Nice. Probably go for the "over the edge" look ... more retro:

It might give the impression of less width with a more tapered side edge ... whichever of the 3 styles I pick, I'll wish I picked a different one. Maybe the regular one with the angled side seam? Hmmm ... I went to the K&H home page and used Chrome translate to compare descriptions on both models ... all measurements the same, same description except for the stitching and rolls.

Looks like the HI seat for the 2017 EX might take awhile, this is from K&H:

Dear xxxxx,

Thank you for having interest in our products!
Now we have just MID seat for CB1100EX 2017.
We will start making HI seat sooner or later.
However, there was one unexpected case recently that our seat was not acceptable on one of our customer's bike sent to U.S.A.
Now we have to look into the spec first whether there are any differences between the model in Japan and other countries.
Hope we can provide you our HI seat soon.

Wasn't that somebody here who had a problem with their K&H seat on the EX?

I ordered a K&H seat for my 2017 EX directly from K&H back in February. They promptly shipped the wrong seat for the 2017 EX. I returned the seat to K&H (they did reimburse $92.55 shipping back to Japan). The second seat was shipped by K&H and I received it in late March. The seat is much longer at the front end and fits VERY FIRMLY up against the tank. This in turn makes it difficult for the attachment device to close at the rear of the seat. I am working with K&H on a refund. They have requested numerous pictures at various angles. Does anyone else have experience with the seat on a 2017? At this point I would advise caution on purchasing one for a 2017.

I have the K&H high seat on my 2014, I am 6'3 and it makes all the difference in the world. Worth every penny
