Capo’s New Ride
#1
So the proceeds of the CB, and soon, the Tiger 800, have been put towards this number. ‘18 Multistrada 1260 S Touring. Got it with 235 miles on it, one month old, from the dealership, was a trade back on a BMW 1600 Bagger by a guy who buys and trades bikes regularly and with little regard for his fiscal health. Got a significant discount and no fees, so made for a good deal.

Two solid days of riding, and I’m blown away by it. It really is multiple bikes in one. Perfect, I mean perfect, ergos for me. Tractable and powerful, and plush ride. Urban mode drops it to 100bhp, lowers it by almost an inch, and makes it usable in town. Touring and Sport modes genuinely change the character of the bike. The bike is balanced as can be, at both the 1mph stop light dance, as well as the considerably faster back road dance.

I’ll withhold judgment on reliability until the miles pile up, but my buddy’s has 28k mi and it’s never been in the shop save for service and a recall. So, abbondanza!

Nice! Congrats on your find! No reason to assume reliability will be an issue. I've not ridden this specific model, but as long as you keep up with maintenance, there's no reason to believe you won't be able to enjoy this bike for many, many miles. Congrats!

Nice Capo. I love bikes of this genre, had a 2007 Tiger 1050 that I truly loved but age and being vertically impaired forced sell of Tiger after 5 years. Beautiful, enjoy.

Jeez Louise, make sure that you familiarize yourself with where the warp speed button is located on that thing so that you don't go pressing it accidentally. Intentionally pressing it is a different matter of course.

Congratulations Capo!

Thanks, Man. As I approach the time in life where I have more time to tour, I think this will be a willing companion.

I’m not a giant fan of adv bikes, but that Ducati is the one I’d really love to have. Beautiful bike Capo! Please give us some more rides reports when you can.

That's an ADV bike? I would have guessed Sport Tourer, nothing says "ADV" when I look at it.

I also see nothing "adv" about my Ulysses either, it seems pure street to me.

I've never been a Ducati guy but that is a really nice looking bike, I think i'll go check them out next time in the city.
