My CB's new little buddy
#41
I work for a drag racing series and live at race tracks for a good part of the year. Modded Ruckus scooters were all the rage for pit bikes for a few years. When Groms came out, it took a while, but they became the pit bike of choice among the more well-heeled racers. One racer bought one, and soon everyone had one. The old-schoolers are still riding their '70's mopeds and CT-90s around the pits, but as soon as the first guy starts tooling around on a new Monkey, I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty of them. They're the perfect size, and being road legal, they can be used for food and parts runs.

I'd love one, but it would break my wife's "no more engines in our household" mandate.

The Monkey appears undeniably fun. Hope they one day come to Canada.

Do you think it would start reliably at -25C in the bowels of winter? (not in May)

Do you think it would start reliably at -25C in the bowels of winter? (not in May) Wow, that's awfully cold, but I think if a CB would start at that temperature, why wouldn't a Monkey?

Yesh, the CB starts and operates effortlessly at -25C plus wind chill.

You are probably right - one should expect the Monkey to also start given its modern fueling. But, stranger things do happen and maybe the engineering is not quite as good as the CB? What a blast it would be ride in the white, eh?

Sharp, clear and fun video of Monkey in snow. Looks great!

But probably not -25C.
