Chain rests on a rubber long half inch wide or so thingie laying on the swing arm when my beautiful Black Edition 14 CB1100 Awsomest is up on it's thoughtfully included center rest stand. Does yours do the same or is my chain a little loose like it's pilot?

You get a free pass on #1. Now what about #2?
Sorry fellow CB'er. Couldn't help it. (Probably shouldn't even post this response).

Just curious how many miles are on your bike?

Good one Inline4. You beat me to it.
But back to the OP - there is a wear indicator on the rubber that is checked as part of routine service. At zero miles you've some way to go. Just keep the chain adjusted correctly. For the '13 model its 25-35mm play. Check the manual or with fellow members for the '14 model.
And NightRider, remember, there is no such thing as a stupid question. Some of the answers could be a bit "iffy" though

.
Cheers and enjoy the ride.

Yup. The manual says to stand her up on her center stand and deflect the lower chain upward and measure after consulting with the forum. So, that's the plan! Thanks all for your guidance on this.
